We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Joyce. She was a wonderful lady who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Our sincerest condolences to Ed and the Bjorn family.
Joyce will be truly missed by her friends in Florida, especially those who went to the pool everyday, where she enjoyed sitting under a patio umbrella & talking to her neighbors. Most of us are who do not permanently live in Florida are called “snow birds” including Joyce & Ed Bjorn. She will be missed by all her Florida friends. May her soul rest in peace. Love Rolly & Bea
Mrs. Bjorn will be greatly missed. I have fond memories of spending time with my close high school friend, and her daughter, Janine, at their home. Sending love and prayers to the family.
Ed: Our deepest sympathies to you and your family. Both of you always had a smile and nice words to express every time we saw you around Grandview. May you remember all of the good times you two had together for many, many years……Barry & Olga Scher, GrandView neighbors
Janine – my thoughts and prayers are with you. I never met your mom, but knowing you, I know she raised a strong woman and I am sure she was a wonderful person.
Mrs. Bjorn taught both of our daughters at Wolftrap Elementary and was always friendly and glamorous with a serious approach to the education of fourth graders. She made serving as a “room mother” such a pleasure. She retired when our younger daughter was in her class and invited students to her home for tea. How grownup they felt! I am sorry for your loss.
Dear Janine…Our condolences to you and your family…as we are sorry to hear about the loss of your mother…and we pray…that she will rest peacefully…in His perpetual light. With Our Deepest Sympathy, Anita & Sal
Janine, Hilkka and I would like to offer our condolences to you and your family during this most difficult time. We did not know your mother but through knowing you we felt her love. May she rest in peace in the arms of our father and his son Jesus Christ, Michael & Hilkka.
Janine, Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this sad time. I fondly remember your birthday celebration with your mother and other celebrations over the years. May she rest in peace. You are a wonderful comfort to your father. Love, Eileen
Dear Janine, When we lose our Mother we lose our best friend. I am very sorry for you loss. I pray she is at peace, and that she’ll look after all of us…..
Dear Janine and Bjorn Family, We are so sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. Although we didn’t have the opportunity to get to know her, we do know how much she meant to you. Know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. Terry and Deb

To the Bjorn family; I express my deepest condolences.Joyce was a great teacher in my life. One of the ones you remember because she made a difference in my life and helped me be a better person. I will always remember. Good Bless. -Kyle
Mrs. Bjorn was a great teacher at Wolftrap when I was there in the 70’s. She taught with the best… Mrs. Fleck, Ms. Diechmann, Ms. Martin, Ms. Leyton and others. My parents still live down the street from Wolftrap. I never drive by without happy memories of the teachers from that school. My thoughts are with your family.
In the 1970-71 school year at Wolftrap Elementary, Mrs. Bjorn was my 6th Grade English teacher. (The teachers taught in teams of three, the other two teachers being Mrs. Keller and Mrs. Tate.) Mrs. Bjorn was a no-nonsense teacher who insisted on effort from her students and did not tolerate any goofing off. The books that she assigned to us challenged us and our ability, rather than bowing to our limitations. She was a far cry from what passes for instruction in public schools these days. May she rest well, and may God comfort her loved ones.
