Juan Emmett Pine was born Aug. 23, 1926 in Peru, New York. He passed July 31, 2024 almost at the age of 98. His mother was Blanche Defoe and his father was Emmett Pine. He attended McCauley Parochial School and graduated from Keeseville High School in 1943. His Army service was from December 22, 1944 to November 25, 1946, T/3, 1st Calvary Division, Eighth Army, occupation of Philippines Islands and Japan. He graduated from the School of Business Administration, Syracuse University in 1950. Juan retired from his 40 year career in Transportation Management with the US Government in Washington, DC, Federal Maritime Commission. Juan married Charlotte Ruth Brown Thanksgiving Day 1949 in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Syracuse, NY. They were married for 44 years until Charlotte’s death July 23, 1994. Juan will be buried with Charlotte at Culpeper National Cemetery, Virginia. Children of Juan and Charlotte Pine are John Morgan Pine and Charlene Marie Pine (Osman). Charlene married Michael Osman in 1980. Juan was active in local hiking clubs and birding. He loved wildlife and found comfort in his cats. One of his pastimes was going to Antique Car shows. He drove his MGB in several Scottish parades in Old Town Alexandria.
There will be a Mass on August 7, Wednesday at St. Bernadette’s Church on 7602 Old Keene Mill Road, Springfield, Virginia at 10 AM. Followed by his burial at Culpeper National Cemetery, Virginia.
