Judith “Judy” Ann Brooks (August 30, 1953–August 18, 2022): Judy died surrounded by family at her home in McLean, Virginia. A resident of New York for most of her life, she will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and wit. But, most of all, Judy will be remembered as the embodiment of what it means to be a mother. She always put her children first, quietly sacrificing for her kids’ happiness. Through her example, she taught her children the meaning of love. Judy loved her kids unselfishly, unconditionally, and without judgment. Because of her love and example, Judy’s children will never know a lonely day.

Judy is survived by: her sons, Dino LaVerghetta and Kevin LaVerghetta; her daughter-in-law, Rose LaVerghetta (née Incampo); and her beloved granddaughters, Evelyn Judith Josephine LaVerghetta and Ella-Rose Adele LaVerghetta. She is also survived by her siblings, Marilyn Guntner (née Brooks), Charles Brooks, and John Brooks.

Judy was predeceased by: her sisters, Karin Scofield (née Brooks) and Kathleen Makrakis (née Brooks); her mother, Evelyn Brooks (née Gill); and, her father, Albert Brooks.

A private memorial service will be held.
