Karen J. Youngblood passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2014. She will be missed by her husband, and best friend, Buddy Youngblood. Karen retired, after a 31 year career, from AT&T. She derived a great sense of personal satisfaction and professional accomplishment from her time with AT&T Government Solutions National Information Systems (Special Accounts) in Washington DC, and Oakton Virginia.

Karen is predeceased by her parents, Clayborne and Dorothy Brower, and her sister and brother-in-law Angela and Melvin Rush.

Karen is survived by her step son, Dennis Youngblood, daughter-in-law Kimberly Youngblood and her grandchildren Violet Youngblood and Fraser Youngblood of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by her niece Kristie Murphy, nephew Danny Murphy and her great nephews Daniel Murphy and Christopher Murphy of Rydal, GA.

Other surviving family members are, from Hampton VA, her mother-in-law Irma Youngblood, Donna McCord, Janet Youngblood, and Kara McCord. Jason Jonczak, Michele Jonczak, Holden Jonczak, Hayes Jonczak and Emery Jonczak, of Raleigh, NC, Pat Rush of Toronto, Canada, Jack Brower, Alicia Lowery and their families in TX, George Brower and family in CA, and Vanessa Woodward and family in France.

Karen had many "four-legged" feline children through the years. She was greeted by, and reunited with, those previously deceased when she crossed "Rainbow Bridge". She was also very active with humane organizations providing relief, food and shelter to abandoned or abused animals.

  5. Words are never enough at a time like this. I cannot be there to say goodbye but my thoughts are with you Buddy. I shall treasure the fact that I found Karen again after so many years and though her illness prevented our meeting again we were able to remain in touch.
