May 12, 1952 ~ October 29, 2016
Kathryn M. McCully
Passed away Saturday afternoon, October 29, 2016, after a very brave battle with breast cancer with her sister at her side. She was born on May 12, 1952 at George Washington Hospital in Washington, DC. She was the beloved daughter of Joseph and Marie McCully. She was part of several generations of DC area relatives dating back to Revolutionary times. She grew up in Maryland and was challenged even as a young child. She had lots of freckles and flaming red curly hair until it turned a lovely white as she aged. She moved to Delray Beach, Florida with her parents in 1978. Her mother passed away in 1985. When her father passed away in 1993, she came to live with her sister Marianne Morahan and her husband, Ed, in Vienna, VA. She loved being an active member and volunteer at Our Lady of Good Counsel parish and swimming at Cardinal Hill Swim Club in the summer. She enjoyed being outside and working in the yard and garden and was a sports enthusiast. She worked at Pizza Hut for 15 years and enjoyed it very much. In addition to her sister, she leaves behind a brother, Charles McCully (Annette) Southwest Ranches, FL, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Joseph G. McCully. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Good Counsel, 8601 Wolftrap Road, Vienna, VA on Friday, December 2 at 10:30 am. Family and friends will be received at the church beginning at 9:45 am. prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to So Others Might Eat, www.some.org of Washington, DC.
