Kimberly Malia Whittington

Kimberly Malia Whittington of Falls Church, VA, passed away peacefully on Friday, 4 February 2022 after a two year battle with cancer. She had family and friends around her (and incredible Hospice care) for the last stage of her life. She is survived by her parents, Edward E. Clark Sr. and Madeleine Hahn, her sisters Leine Whittington and Susanne Shahidi, her brothers, Ed Clark Jr., Daniel Clark, Greg Clark, Joel Clark, and Patrick Lucas as well as all of their wonderful spouses and children. Special love was provided by Sigrid Lucas, as well as countless friends and friends of family. Born 18 August 1963 in Hawaii, she grew up in Northern Virginia, graduated as a talented graphic artist from the Colorado Institute of Art, worked in the Art Industry in Colorado for many years until transitioning back to Virginia and into the Apple technology industry two decades ago. She loved Colorado, the mountains, her motorcycle, her Firebird, her art, the fact that our family was a "family by choice," and all the people who stayed by her side during the tough times.

One Kimberly’s (Lee’s) favorite classic song was “Desperado” by the Eagles

Here are some lyrics to think about when you think of her:

Desperado

Why don’t you come to your senses?

You’ve been out ridin’ fences for so long now

Oh, you’re a hard one, but I know that you’ve got your reasons.

These things that are pleasin’ you can hurt you somehow. (Verse 1)

Desperado

Why don’t you come to your senses?

Come down from your fences, and open the gate.

It may be rainin’ but there’s a rainbow above you.

You better let somebody love you (Let somebody love you).

You better let somebody love you… before it’s too late. (Verse 5)

And finally, her message to all: “Here's to it and to it again, If you ever get to it to do it and don't do it, You'll never get to it to do it again." (Origin Unknown)

She is finally at peace.

Guestbook

  1. We were great friends from the first time we met in the 7th grade. We had the best of times, the hardest of times and the saddest of times, together. We may of gone years without seeing each other, but we always landed back together as if never parted. I love you Kim Whittington and I’ll see you again. I’ll be looking for your messages. Squzy
