She was a majority member of Bethel 9, International Order of Job’s Daugthers and continued to be involved over the years, including with both of her daughters through their participation. As an adult leader, she was Director of Music and is a Past Bethel Guardian of Bethel 9 in McLean.

Upon her high school graduation in 1961, Lenora went to work for the Central Intelligence Agency, where she worked until Pamela was born, then devoting her time and attention to raising her children. She returned to the CIA after Rhonda began school, working until her retirement in 1996, achieving 24 years of service. Lenora married Ronald A. Lenora was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother with her grandchildren being the light of her life. From taking them on Disney trips and cruises, to fishing, gardening, and crafting with them to attending almost every sporting event she could, to include tuning in to watch long-distance baseball games virtually, to attending many theatre productions, she was always their biggest fan. She was immensely proud of each of them and loved them more than life.

Guestbook

  1. I’m so sorry to hear that Lenora lost her fight with lung cancer. I think of all the fun times we had in Jobs Daughters and seeing are daughters follow in our foot steeps. Ralph and I are sorry we didn’t learn of her passings until this evening. So we missed her viewing tonite. I need to take Ralph to his appointment tomorrow at 12 at his neurologist in Fairfax. The timing wasn’t great for us. Will keep you Pam and Rhonda in our prayers.
    Ralph and Sandy

  2. Lenora’s passing has left a tremendous void in our lives. Not only was she the sister of my late husband, but she was one of my closest friends for well over 60 years. We had many interests in common and shared many hobbies. We loved making clothes for our daughters from shopping together for fabric to bouncing ideas off each other to swapping patterns. Lenora’s counted cross projects were so professionally done with intricate beading and metallic thread. I am so proud to be the owner of an elaborate piece she created for Jim’s and my 50th wedding anniversary. Both of us loved to read; we swapped books, traded opinions on what we each read, and informed each other of new releases.
The accomplishment that the two of us took the most pride in was was planning and hosting her parents’ 50th wedding celebration, as well as planning many birthday celebrations for her mother–the most memorable one of which was her 100th. Lenora was such a devoted member of the Eastern Star that is totally awesome the number of positions she held.
Lenora was valiant in her long fight against cancer. Everyone who knew of her battle admired her for her strength and courage. Pam was so right in saying that Heaven had gained a new angel. I shall miss her forever.
    Love,
    Elsie
