Lester D. Brady

Lester Dudley Brady "Les" (age 90), Lt. Col. USAR, of Oakton, Virginia, formerly of Weatherford, Texas, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2008. Beloved husband of the late Barbara K. Brady; loving father of Susan McFadden of Newport Beach, California, Lester D. Brady III (Tolly) of Weatherford, Texas, & Petrina B. Murphy (Jack) of Oakton, Virginia; grandfather of Brett McFadden, Scott McFadden, Jackie Murphy, Thomas Murphy, Ann Claire Clay, J.R. Flournoy, & Tanner Flournoy. Col. Brady & his wife Barbara lived in the Weatherford & Fort Worth, Texas areas for over 40 years. They moved to Oakton, Virginia in May 2004. Col. Brady's military career included pre-war National Guard service, WWII, post-war army occupation tours in both Japan & Germany; the Korean War, & Cold War periods. He retired as Traffic Manager for the Montgomery Ward Catalog House in Fort Worth, Texas in 1975. He was also Post Commander & life member of Fort Worth Sail & Power Squadron. Col. Brady was a life member of the Military Officers Association & a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery on Friday, June 6, 2008 at 3pm with Full Military Honors. Family & friends are asked to meet at the Adminstration Building at 2:30pm.
