  1. Dear Family of Lester Alumbaugh, I am sorry about the lost of your loved one. Words cannot describe feelings in a time like this. We can get comfort from the Bible at Psalm 55:22. Keep memories of your past loved one close.

  2. It was wonderful being with Les and Pat a year at Larson AFB,flying our Sabres to England on Fox Able 9, and together three years at Shepherds Grove. We will never forget two of the nicest people in the world. Ernie & Phyllis Pile

  5. Pat and Family, very sorry to hear about Les’ death. I trained under him and Ross Beamer in the 16th TRS at Shaw in 1965, then deployed to RVN with the Squadron. Never was there a more patient nor gentle nor skilled pilot, officer and gentleman as Les. I had absolute respect for him the entire time I served as a junior officer under his able guidance.

  10. In the mid 60’s Les was a role model to the young backseater RF4C pilots that flew and worked with him in the training for and eventual combat missions in Veitnam. His positive outlook and humor will always be treasured by all of us.

  16. Please accept my condolences. I enjoyed serving in the 19th Tac with Les at Toul Rosieres 1962-63. We visited at the B-66 Destroyer reunion at Wright Patterson. He always seemed to me to be a warm and considerate man.

  17. I was deeply saddened to learn of Les’ passing. I always looked forward to seeing him at the 19th TRS reunions, and remembering our days at Toul-Rosieres.

  18. Patty, Greg and Julie, Uncle Lester was always full of love, wisdom, positive advice and set a high standard for all. I will never forget him telling me to pursue what you’re passionate about and you will most likely be happy in life. He exhibited that passion in his our life with a long career in aviation and an unconditional love for all of his family members. Uncle Lester will be missed, but never forgotten; he truly influenced all of our lives.
