  13. My deepest sympathy goes out to the family. If I could use only one word to describe Lolly, I would use the word…caring! Lolly cared for every employee in the Eastern Region. Even during her battles with cancer, she always made light of her struggles (never wanted the focus on her) and always stayed focused on everyone else’s needs. She was truly a remarkable woman and someone I was proud to have known. Gayle Sisler USGS Retiree

  14. I had the good fortunate to recruit Lolly to the Water Resources Division as the human resources specialist. We worked together for many years. I was pleased to see her eventually become Personnel Officer for Eastern Region. She had great people skills and provided outstanding support to the people of USGS. She will be missed

  15. Dearest Stephen, Kimberly, Sarah, Rachel, Ceci, Sue, Kathy, Honeybee and Dad Dorie, my deepest sympathy with the loss of our Lolly. She was a remarkable loving woman who was my friend and “sister” for over 40 years. Always, her family came first and she loved all of you and her beautiful grandchildren. She fought her battle with the grace and upbeat nature that inspired us. I love you, Lol, you will be in my heart forever! Barbie

  16. Steve, We were deeply saddened to hear of Lolly’s passing. It was the same sinking feeling as when you told me of her original cancer diagnosis. When we’d get to work early, you told me enough for me to know that she was facing her cancer battle with courage, humor, grace and dignity. Almost 40 years together seems like a real gift. But she’s been called to heaven, I suspect the HR department there needs work and seriously shaped up. Please know that you’re both in our thoughts and prayers.

  17. Please accept my condolences for your loss of such a wonderful person. I was so saddened by Lolly’s passing. She has always been a inspiration to me and I will miss her. Her strength was amazing.

  25. Steve– My deepest sympathy to you and your family. I first met Lolly when I was reassigned to Reston in March 1993 by the USGS. It was immediately obvious that she was special. She would light up the room with her smile, the sparkle in her eyes, her infectious laugh and ability to talk with anyone and make them comfortable. We talked a lot over the years about how much she loved her family, her special relationship with her father, how much she loved Steve and appreciated all his support, how proud she was of her daughters and grandchildren, and how much she enjoyed many evenings spent talking with Robin while sipping a glass of wine. She also was devoted to her work at Triple A where she made such a difference in so many lives. She will be missed by one and all. Lolly will always have a special place in my heart. She was my best friend.

  26. I hold such vivid and fond memories of Lolly and Steve in high school in Naples, Italy. What a special couple they made. Lolly was one of the little sisters of Sue, my best friend. I will always remember Lolly as a loving, easy-going person who was so much fun to be with back then. Later in life, we would see each other at our reunions and laugh at so many good memories of being teenagers growing up in Italy. She loved her wonderful family and many friends and was so well thought of by others. I know Mrs. Dorie was there to meet Lolly at the gates of Heaven.

  27. Dear Steve, I was privileged to work with Lolly on the NR staff. She always brought lightness and joy to our workaday world. My deepest condolonces to you and your family. Chet Zenone Salem OR

  28. Steven, Lolly was such a special friend to me for many years, and I can’t begin to say how much I will miss her. We laughed and cried about husbands, kids, grandkids, parents, and work. Lolly was always there to support me in hard times and to celebrate with me in joyful times. I valued her advice, appreciated her humor, and treasured her friendship. Please know that you and all your family are in our thoughts and prayers.
