Loretta "Lori" Pitchford of Vienna, Virginia and originally of New York died on December 30, 2015 at her home. She was the beloved wife of the late Leslie Lee Pitchford; mother of Loretta "Missy" Toma, Elizabeth "Biz" Sarkozi and Maureen Jender (Joseph); sister of Linda Krauss, Leora Krauss and the late Frederick Krauss and grandmother of Alexandra, Lindsay, Jon, Natalie, Colette, Mallari and Colleen. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Capital Caring, 2900 Telestar Court, Falls Church, Virginia 22042.

Sorry to read of Loretta’s passing in today’s Washington Post. She was the best of neighbors for almost 20 years. She was so helpful when we sold the house and just prior to closing discovered that our driveway was on her property. She helped us find the easement and she and Les had given to previous owners stating that the driveway belonged to 10504 Silk Oak. She will be missed not only by family and neighbors but by clients of Booze Plumbling.
The best memory I have of Aunt Loretta is when we were kids, her, my Mom, Aunt Leora and Uncle Freddie would reminisce about the crazy things they did as kids growing up in Massapequa NY. Witnessing the laughter and smiles always made me laugh and smile. That I will never forget.
Our heartfelt sympathy to Maureen and family on the loss of your mother Loretta. We worked together for close to 18 years and always had a good laugh together. Talked to her a few days before her passing and we were still able to joke and have a good laugh. Know she will be missed but as time passes the memories of her will help through the difficult times and just know one day you will be together again.
