Louise D. Whyte

Passed away at her home in McLean, Va., on May 31, 2016 at the age of 93. She was surrounded by her loving family and caregivers. Born June 7, 1922 in Washington, DC., she graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1941 and then worked for the Hod Carriers Union as a bookkeeper until she married John A. Whyte (Jack) in 1946. She joined him when he started a business, American Millwork in Merrifield, and ran the company bookkeeping operations. They were early residents of McLean where they built a home in 1948 and continued to live there until her death. Jack predeceased her in 2003. Louise was loved and adored by her two children, Adrienne A. Whyte and Jeanne L. Whyte Kraft (Dennis).

A service will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery where she will be reunited with her husband Jack. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to McLean Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 291, McLean, Va 22101 or the Wildlife Center of Virginia at PO Box 1557, Waynesboro, Va 22980.
