Passed peacefully on January 20, 2011 at his residence in Fairfax, VA. Beloved husband of Crystal Finnie; father of Melba A. Dois and William J. Finnie. He is also survived by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Lt. Col. Finnie served 28 years in the Air Force and during the Korean Conflict was awarded the Bronze Star while stationed in Tokyo, Japan. Lt. Col. Finnie was stationed at the Air Force Academy, in Colorado, on staff as Director of Data Automation and Assistant Comptroller for four years. After serving with the Air Force, he worked for the Burroughs Corporation for 14 years. He also volunteered as an auxiliary police officer with Fairfax County for two years.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, Fairfax Corps, 4915 Ox Rd., Fairfax, VA 22030.
