Maria Olga Anna Boschetti Alfieri
March 5, 1920 ~ January 5, 2011
The greatest thing you will ever learn, is just to love and be loved in return. These were her favorite words from a recording of Nat King Cole's "Nature Boy" which she brought from Italy to America in 1946 when she married our father. The album was among her favorite, special things she brought to America to start a new life as the wife of Jim Alfieri and the most wonderful mother of her three children, Jim, Jr, Anita and John Guido. She loved us with all her heart and stood by us every moment of our lives. She loved her family and made us a happy and secure home with memories we will cherish as long as we live. Her grandchildren, Isabella and Francesco were blessings to her and thank God Jim and Annette gave her the opportunity to experience these loves of her life. Mamma, you are and always will be the light that guides us, although you are not present before our faces, your love and strength breathes through us for all eternity. Ciao Bellisima Mama, Con TePartiremo, Noi Con Te.

Maria, you are in peace now with the angels. You were my second mom and I will miss you so. I won’t have anyone to try on my shoes and tell me “Joan, where is your lipstick,” along with all of the other advice you have given me over the years. And oh, the wonderful dinners at your house. I still see you pounding chicken in the kitchen for your wonderful chicken scallopine! Many wonderful memories that I personally will always cherish. We will miss you, but you will always be with us. Ciao bella and grazie tante. Joan Powers
I have not seen Maria for many years but Bill and I enjoyed many dinners with the Alfieris in the 1980s. Maria was a lovely woman with a wonderful loving family. I know she is in a good place. Bill is also gone but always loved his little “Nita Bella.” I hope you are well Anita
John, Anita and Jim, My heart and many prayers go out to you of the loss of your mother. I had the pleasure of meeting her a couple of times through John. She was such a nice lady to all of the people her children brought by. I wish happiness and much love, laughter and comfort of the many memories you share over the next few days. May you also find peace knowing that both of your parents are in good hands and have eternal life. Sincerely, Patty
I thank those of you who shared your memories of my Mom. She loved her family more than life itself. Our family was blessed to have a Mom and Dad that loved each other dearly and stood by our sides always. When I had my share of troubled times their love and support never faltered.Mom was a brilliant lady. She spoke six languages, worked part time for the State Dept.as an interpreter, giving her the opportunity to meet two Presidents, Nixon and Carter. Not bad for a young bride that came to the US. only speaking Italian. I love you Mom and Dad with all my heart.I feel the warmth of you love each day and have comfort knowing we will be together again. Love, John Guido
