  1. Nana was always a friendly face and good for a hug and a laugh. I don’t think we had enough time to share travel stories and I hope my house someday will be half as full of treasures from traveling. I hope to share her contagious enthusiasm for Penn State and even more so, her strong faith. She has a special place in my heart and if I can live half a life as full as hers, I’ll count myself lucky.

  2. God bless you Marilyn! Thank you for all you did over the years for my family and I. You opened your home and your heart to us, and we will always remember your kindness. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the entire Haas family. Love, Tom, Kim, Nick & Eric

  11. Even though I only met Marilyn a few years ago through the Navy Officer’s Spouse’s Group of DC, she touched my life. She welcomed me into her home for gatherings as well as introduced me to several members of her extended family at various events. The Navy is a small world where there are many connections, known and unknown. My husband is still active duty and a MH-53 Helicopter pilot, so when she learned her grandson joined the 53 community, we had fun talking, sharing updates, and stories about it. I will miss her, I thank her for making me feel so welcome in Fairfax County and including me in her family, and am proud to have gotten to know such a wonderful woman. My thoughts and prayers go to all of the family. Marilyn, I know you are at peace and are watching over all of us.

  12. Kenn, I am so sorry for your loss. I will remember Marilyn’s beautiful smile and the warmth she showed. I know there are memories that will bring you comfort as you reflect on your life with Marilyn. I ask God to strengthen you in this time of deep sorrow. Catherine Allison

  13. Oh Kenn, I am so very sorry to hear the sad news. Marilyn was my AFHA sister and I enjoyed working with her. Will always remember Marilyn and the AFHA parties, at your home. Nice memories of sitting and enjoying the nature in your park like back-yard remain. God bless your family my prayers are with you.

  14. My heart goes out to the Haas family. I met Marilyn more than eleven years ago at Penn State. I looked forward to seeing her each year at many alumni events. She was always there with a wonderful smile, contagious laugh, and open arms for a great big hug. Thinking of you during this difficult time.

  15. We are thankful for the time we knew Marilyn. You always saw a warm and inviting smile. We had great times and alot of laughs. We will miss our great friend.
