Marsena K. Field
February 18, 1931 ~ September 4, 2010
Marsena K. Field, of Reston, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2010, of a heart attack. She leaves behind two children, Jeff and Carl, a granddaughter, Mei, and her beloved husband, Alan Field, to whom she had been happily married since 1958.
Marsena was a teacher for many years at Oakton Elementary School. She loved birding, the music of Louis Armstrong, and learning about other cultures. She was always a champion of the underdog in any situation, frequently quoting St. Francis in his desire to be an instrument of God's peace. Marsena made many friends throughout her life and never lost one, except to death. She will be missed terribly by all who were touched by her life.

I was so sorry to get that phone call from Cordelia about Marsena. It was like my childhood was gone. Nobody was as close as she when we were growing up. We shared a lifetime of memories. As it would happen we are leaving Saturday to return to Florida for the winter and are going to try to be there on Sunday for her service.
