Passed away at her home. Wife of the late Commander Joseph F. Sowar, USN. Mother of Douglas Sowar (Trudy), Timothy Sowar (Deborah), Jonathan Sowar (Alison), Steven Sowar (Carole), and Nancy White (Phillip). Sister of the late Robert and George Combs.
She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Mary? We never knew any other name than Bonny. And Bonny and Joe were so great to watch over our daughter Pam for a few months after college. We tried to get there in time for the service, but it just didn’t work out. Daughter Pamela should be there to say hi for us. Wish we could spend some time getting reunited with our cousins and their families. And we hope the occasion is a happy one for a wonderful long life of a wonderful person.
It has been a great pleasure to see Bonnie again from time to time recently, playing bridge. When we lived in Ashlawn, we saw Bonnie and Joe frequently. I am so glad to have know them both, such wonderful people, an honor to have known them. Bonnie was looking forward to her upcoming birthday, and the party her family was planning, but I am sure she is celebrating now, in heaven, and united again with her Joe.
It is with great sadness that I say farewell to my dear friend and wonderful neighbor Bonnie. For over 35 years as neighbors I have shared many wonderful hours with both Bonnie and Joe. All of us who have been fortunate to have known and spent time with Bonnie will truly miss her very much.
