Michael Fadul

michael fadul
Michael Fadul passed away peacefully at home on August 12, 2021 with his family at his side. Michael was born in Queens, New York on October 2, 1955 to Narciso Fadul and Kia Fadul (Dionisos). Michael is survived by his wife (Elaine), his children (Peter, Joseph, and Thomas), his daughters-in-law, whom he considered his own (Amanda and Sarah), his grandchildren (Noelle, Chase, Oliver, Quinn, and Logan), as well as his older brother (Peter) and his family.

Michael graduated from Baruch College after which time he began his long career in Information Technology. He worked as a Software Engineer for over 40 years across multiple industries while consistently growing, learning, and re-inventing himself as technology rapidly changed. He was fully committed to every project he worked on and had a strong work ethic, but he always said that he worked for a living, but work never defined him.

Michael was immensely proud of the work he did, but his greatest passion was his family. He was a loving and faithful husband to his wife Elaine of 38 years and an always a present and loving father to his three sons Peter, Joseph and Thomas. He was with them at every peak and valley of their lives teaching each by his example and transforming these three young boys into honorable men. He often told them as they were growing up, “I may not be able to give you the world, but the one thing I can give you is a good name.” Up until the day he departed this earth he beamed with pride when discussing each of his treasured sons.

Another one of his great passions was music. Growing up, he and his older brother, Peter, played guitar, drums, and the piano. Michael loved many genres of music, but always returned to the Classic Rock and Motown that he grew up with. He loved the Beatles and often recalled seeing them perform on the Ed Sullivan Show. He knew every song and album that they put out as well as the complete history of the band. His Sirius radio in his car was often tuned to the Beatles, Classic Vinyl and the Beach Boys channels. Around Christmas, if you want a great rendition of “Silver Bells” Michael would recommend you listen to Wilson Pickett’s version of the song. This Queens boy also came to love Country Music and if he could recommend a poignant song that resonated with him, it would be “Believe” by Brooks and Dunn.

Michael loved to gather family and friends in his home and knew how to plan for a good time! His recipe was an abundance of good food, a full bar, great music and plenty of friends and family! Michael also provided the entertainment as he was an amazing dancer and a magnificent joke teller! He wanted everyone to feel welcomed in his home.

He was involved with Chantilly Youth Association (CYA), where he coached his sons on many baseball teams starting with Little League through their Babe Ruth years. Michael loved teaching kids the mechanics of the game and working together as a team. He always coached them saying, “On the field and in life, the most important play is the next play”.

Michael was so many things to so many people but his faith and trust as a follower of Jesus Christ is ultimately what defined him as a husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Despite his ongoing battle with cancer, he always made a point to express his gratitude for all of God’s goodness in his life and for the wonderful earthly blessings afforded to him. Even at the height of his struggle with cancer he never once accused the grace of God or questioned His love. His ultimate hope rested in Christ’s finished work on the cross providing the path to God’s glorious kingdom for the ages to come.

Michael always desired that people would not feel sad for him in his passing but instead celebrate his life knowing he has entered eternal glory with his King and Creator and will spend all of his days worshipping God in his resurrected body with a renewed voice full of joy and free of pain and suffering. He will be missed dearly as he made a profound impact on so many lives, but we look forward to reuniting with him in eternal glory.
