Michael V. Randazzo

Michael Vincent Randazzo, 16, of Vienna, Virginia, passed away suddenly on December 17. Michael was a 10th grade student at George C. Marshall High School in Falls Church, VA. He was born on September 10, 1998 in Arlington, Virginia.

He is survived by his parents, Dorothy and Vincent Randazzo, his sister Kate, and his twin brother David. He is also survived by his grandmother, Mary Randazzo of Wyandotte, MI, eighteen aunts and uncles and thirty-two first cousins.

Michael had a kind spirit and loving heart that he shared with everyone around him. He loved to watch Disney movies, sing and dance to music, walk outside in nature, and especially make new friends. He appreciated good food and big fluffy dogs, who he always stopped to greet on his walks through the neighborhood. Michael had a passion for stories and loved to read books about his favorite characters; he enjoyed learning to read and spell new words. He had a silly sense of humor and entertained his friends and family by telling jokes and making goofy faces. Most of all, he lived each moment with enthusiasm and joy. He will be deeply missed.

Michael was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, Vienna, VA, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 23 at 10:30 a.m. The family will receive friends at a viewing at the church on Monday, Dec. 22 from 6-8 p.m.

The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, a donation could be made in Michael's name to the National Down Syndrome Society by going to https:www.kintera.org/autogen/simple/donor.asp

  12. Oh, Dorothy, I am so sorry to hear this news. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Here is a poem to help comfort you. He passed away like morning dew Before the sun was high; So brief his time, he scarcely knew The meaning of a sigh. As round the rose its soft perfume, Sweet love around him floated; Admired he grew-while mortal doom Crept on, unfeared, unnoted. Love was his guardian Angel here, But Love to Death resigned him; Though Love was kind, why should we fear But holy Death is kinder? Hartley Coleridge, writer and poet (1796 – 1849)
