I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of my dear friend, Muriel Rogers. Muriel was my beloved mentor and colleague as a young teacher at Warren Central High School. She had a great sense of humor and a contagious positive attitude about life. I enjoyed immensely hearing her speak in her native British accent. I also had the privilege of teaching two of her four children, Paul, John, Peter, and Elizabeth. She was a brilliant, devoted, and greatly beloved educator. She created an “Opposing Viewpoints” course, which I later emulated at Hilton Head Preparatory School on her model. My heart goes out to Mr. Rogers, the children, and their families and friends. Muriel Rogers will stand forever in my loving memory.
My deepest sympathy to the Rogers family. May you find comfort in your memories and each other.
It was a great pleasure to know you and know the family that built the structure now known as Walnut Hills on Adams Street. God Bless your family during this difficult time. Joyce Clingan,

I was saddened to hear the news about Mrs. Rogers’ passing. I hope in some way that the prayers and condolences we share, will help ease your loss. You will continue to be in my thoughts. I did not have the opportunity to get to know Mrs. Rogers, but I met her once in when Bebeth invited me to your Signal Hill home one sunny afternoon. I think I would have enjoyed the chance to sit and converse with Mrs. Rogers – listening to stories about her childhood, and advice regarding education on two continents. That sunny day, my brief friendship with Bebeth, and Mrs. Rogers’ willingness to let another child into her calm home, brought a smile to my face.
