Nancy H. Johnson
April 28, 1942 ~ October 2, 2009
Nancy Hutcheson Johnson passed away on October 1, 2009 of natural causes at her home in Chantilly, Virginia. She was 67. Nancy was born in Pikesville, Kentucky, & grew up in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. She graduated from St. Andrew's College, majoring in English, & obtained her Masters Degree in English Literature from the University of Virginia. In 1966, Nancy moved to the Washington, DC area to begin her career with the Federal Government at the Maritime Administration. In 1968, Nancy married Bill Johnson & together they had two children, Stacie Erin & Timothy Nils. In 1983, Nancy returned to government service as an Equal Opportunity Specialist at the Federal Highway Administration's Office of Civil Rights. After her retirement in 2000, Nancy & Bill enjoyed traveling the U.S & the world together. At the time of Bill's death in 2004, they had been happily married for 36 years. Thereafter, Nancy continued to enjoy travel with her friends & family, & was an active memeber of University Christian Church where she served as youth mentor & Deacon. She is survived by her brothers, Dick & Charles; daughter Stacie & her husband Dave; son Tim & his wife Juliet; & grandsons Everett & Miles.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease Foundation or University Christian Church.
