Beloved husband of Magaly Penula-Alonzo; loving father of Hazel (Kevin) Barker, Kevin Alonzo, Patricia (Ryan) Pugh, Linda (John) Herrman, Susan (Lawrence) Wake, Norma (Crick) Bennett, Ingrid (Steve) Peterson, Anabelle Villamizar, Rubens (Deedee) Villamizar; brother of Andrew, Alfred, Harry, and the late Walter Alonzo; also survived by the joy of his life his 17 wonderful grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

I can’t believe that you’re gone. You were the best, most wonderful Father that a girl could ever have. I am so lucky to have had you as my Dad. You were also the most awesome “Pop” to Taylor. I’ve worked with Norman for almost 7 years at Congressional. He was a truly remarkable and special person and he will be GREATLY missed.
One of my best friends. We shared an apartment when we first started driving a bus in Arlington, Va. for Arnold Lines in the early sixties.

Uncle Norman was just about the sweetest, most loving man I’ve ever known! Although I didn’t get to see him often in the past few years, he will truly be missed by our entire family! Hazel, Kevin and Patricia, I do understand how hard it is to lose a cherish parent! The Alonzo Boys are all such wonderful men and my Dad and Uncle Norman surely helped make them the most incredible “band of brothers” that they were! Rest in Peace, Uncle Norman!

Norman was a good friend for forty-seven years and one of the nicest guys I have ever known. He will be missed very much. My condolences to Magaly an his family.
Norman, I already miss you. When I met you almost 15 years ago at congressional, I had a deep feeling you would be my life long friend and you are. We shared so many laughs, and so many good times together. Our conversations together was very unique Norman, you helped me in ways you may never have known. Your father will be missed by many people including myself..When I drove for Fairfax County Public Schools I would see him in his congressional bus on Mark drive or by Falls Church High School and he would always wave, I dont think he had a clue who I was but he always waved to me..
