Peggy Elaine Butler, age 65, of Vienna, Virginia passed away on September 11, 2009 due to a hit & run accident in the Outer Banks, North Carolina. Beloved wife of Doug A. Rolston; loving & devoted mother of Eden Butler. Also survived by her first husband, Gary Butler, her friends & her cats, "Newtie" & "Bruno".

  2. Peggy was one of the sweetest and nicest people anyone could ever meet — with her bright red hair and big warm smile which greeted you every day. I may not have known her as long as others, but I will always think of her as a dear friend.

  14. I have worked with Peggy for most of my adult life, first at the Rushmore Funds in Bethesda, and for the past fifteen years at Edelman Financial. Outside of our vacation time, there hasn’t been a day that we haven’t either seen each other, teased each other, or confided in each other. She was gentle and kind, and always made the days brighter. The days will be dimmer without you. I will always miss you.

  24. As a fellow EFS Margarita Girl I will miss the birthday celebrations and the just because we need it happy hours after work. Sadly, wed all become so busy at the Edelman office, I didnt see her as much during the work day as I used to. I still look for her every time I turn a corner or walk into the kitchen. I will miss her laugh and the kind words she had to say about most everyone. Doug and Eden, my heart goes out to you both. I cant even begin to understand the void Peggys loss creates in your life.   25. Eden, My thoughts are with you in this difficult time. “Aunt” Laura just informed me today of this sad horrible news. I am in complete disbelief. I too go to the Outer Banks every year, and walk across that same street, in that area, and can’t even imagine this happening. I am so sorry this happened. I can only imagine what a wonderful woman your mother was, since I didn’t get to meet her. I am sure, much like yourself, she was a wonderful woman. Full of love and happiness. We will greatly miss her warm and giving nature at our annual Tour de Howe in Gananoque, especially for those of us in the Support Vehicle where Peggy brought her great sense of humour and kindness.
