Born in: Alexandria, VA
Resided in: Vienna, VA

Peggy Lent Wall, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2024. Born in Alexandria, VA, she graduated from Fairfax High School and began her career at C&P Phone Company, where she met her husband, Marion O’Neal Wall. Peggy later worked in the admissions office at Fairfax Hospital.

Peggy enjoyed sewing, cooking, and watching Hallmark movies. She had a playful side, with a fun collection of cow-themed memorabilia that she accumulated over the years. From her kitchen window, she spent hours mesmerized by the birds that she kept very well-fed. A proud member of the Red Hat Society, Peggy loved dressing up in purple and red to meet her friends for lunch, where laughter and stories flowed. However, it was spending time with her grandchildren that truly brought her the greatest joy. Peggy enjoyed vacationing with family and friends and was thrilled to take her family, especially the grandchildren on several trips over the years.

Peggy cherished sending cards to friends and family cards for holidays, anniversaries, and birthdays, signing each card, “Luv ya!” She was generous and enjoyed supporting her family, church, and her favorite charities including Wounded Warriors and St. Jude’s Hospital. She cared a great deal about giving back, believing that even small contributions could make a big difference.

Peggy is survived by her son, Russell T. Wall (Sasha Wall), daughter Eva M. Wall, and granddaughters Sophia Wall, Madeline Wall, Lillie Bunney, and Hallie Bunney. She was preceded in death by her son, John O. Wall, husband, Marion O. Wall, and daughter, Susan C. Ward. A memorial service will be determined later by the family. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the charity of your choice.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Aunt Peggy will be missed! I have lots of fond memories of visiting her. The first time I had beef stroganoff was some she cooked. Of course, it was wonderful. She also cooked the first stuffed cabbage I ever had. Yum! Her kitchen always had divine aromas wafting through the air. She made matching dresses for Eva and me, blue and white gingham. When we got a little older, she made us patchwork maxi skirts. When I went through confirmation she gave me a white dress to wear. When I got too big for the dress (which at that age only took a year) we passed the dress back to Eva. She raised 3 of the best people you’ll ever meet; Susan, Eva and Rusty. Uncle O’Neal was lucky he found her. With much love and deep sympathy, Gloria Moore

  2. I’m so sorry to hear about your mom. I have the most cherished memories growing up in the neighborhood with both your mom and dad. ❤️ God Bless!

  3. Our family still is finding it hard to accept Peggy’s passing. We will miss her smile and sense of humor. Our deepest condolences the loss of your mom. We hope you find some comfort in loving memories of your times with her.
