Phyllis J. Buscemi

Phyllis J. Buscemi of Annandale, VA, wife of the late Peter C. Buscemi, Sr., passed away peacefully at Fairfax Nursing Center, on Thursday, April 23, 2015. Buscemi was born November 15, 1931 in Midland, PA, the daughter of the late Anthony and Bridget Curto, and sister to Marie Phillips (Charles) and Leo Curto (Mary Jane), preceded in death by sister Jenny LaPorte Ray (Jim) and brother Richard Curto (survived by Gerry). Buscemi attended St. John's General Hospital School of Nursing and graduated as a registered nurse in 1952. After working for Sacred Heart Hospital in Cumberland, MD, she moved to Annandale, VA in 1971 and worked as a registered nurse with Inova Fairfax Hospital for almost 30 years until her retirement. She was a member of St. Ambrose Church in Annandale, VA. Buscemi was a past member of the American Nurses Association. She is survived by their children, Barnard Buscemi (Robyn), Anthony Buscemi, Peter Buscemi, Jr.(Mary Lou), Philip Buscemi (Nancy), Paul Buscemi (Jeanette), Angela Reuss (Ted) and grandchildren Jacki Woolsey, Alexander Buscemi, Brian Buscemi, Stephen Buscemi, Taylor Buscemi, Kristyn Buscemi, Daniel Reuss and Katherine Reuss. She loved being with her husband, children, and grandchildren and will always be missed by her family and friends. Funeral service and inurnment will take place at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Phyllis J.
