RACHEL GRACE KESSINGER (age 30)
peacefully departed this life on November 15, 2024. She was born in Stockton, California, on June 3, 1994, to Richard Lee Kessinger and Barbara Lloyd Kessinger and moved to Northern Virginia at seven years of age.
Rachel was energetic, fun-loving, and spirited – a friend of many, a matchmaker for some, and a cheerleader to all. She played the piano and viola with enthusiasm and offered private music lessons for several years. She also loved to play card games and board games with family and friends and was a master at “running them” in Hearts.
Rachel was a model in the exemplary way she endured suffering during her 4½ year battle with breast cancer. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with her whole heart and fervently hoped that others would come to know Him through her testimony. She encouraged everyone to seek and pursue God in their own lives.
In addition to her parents, Rachel is survived by her sister, Ruth Kessinger; her brothers, Ross Thompson, Paul Thompson (Jen), Richard Kessinger, Roland Kessinger, Rudy Kessinger, and Robert Kessinger; her grandfather, John S. Lloyd, Jr. (her beloved Gramps); her uncles, Glenn Kessinger (Jeanne) and John S. Lloyd III; her aunts, Kathryn Lloyd (Kerwin Dobbs) and Therese Lloyd; and her cousins, Brad, Amy, Zoe, Kiera, Corissa, and Michael. She is preceded in death by her other grandparents, Glenwood Kessinger, Ruth Kessinger, and Olga Lloyd.
Funeral service will be held at McLean Bible Church, Smith Center, 8925 Leesburg Pike, Vienna, VA 22182, on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at 1:00pm, with burial at Andrew Chapel Cemetery in Vienna, Virginia, immediately following. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to McLean Bible Church, Arlington location, 1310 N. Courthouse Road, Arlington, VA 22201.
Words of Faith
I have enjoyed more time in the Word and prayer than ever before. It is clear that God has purpose for everything in my life and those around me. He sustains me each and every day. My hope, strength, joy, peace are all in Him and have kept my spirits high during this time. I would implore you all to SEEK and PURSUE God in your own lives. His love, mercy, grace and provision have no bounds.

prayers and hugs to Rachels family during this difficult time . RIP Rachel
I met Rachel at a family reunion a few years ago. She was such an interesting vibrant young lady. We talked about hiking and how much she wanted to cone back to Washington and do some hikes. She will be missed by so many.
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” May God embrace you during this time of grief and bring healing to your heart. May the love and memories you shared bring you comfort.
RIP Rachel
