Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I met Ricky when I was looking for informtion on my father, who was KIA in Vietnam. Even though Ricky didn’t know my dad, he came forward to support me and help me understand what my father’s life was like. I feel very fortunate to have met him and was thankful to have him as support at the Vietnam Wall. He “adopted” me as so many of the veterans did – he was a special man and I’m thankful to have counted him as an uncle. Ricky, you will never be forgotten…..

  2. He will always be remembered as a dedicated husband, father, marine and above all, a pioneer in the union movement. He has gone home to a better place. He will always be my friend.

  3. I met Rick when I first started in the Post Office in 1977. Though we took different paths I could always count on him to give me the correct information when I asked a question. I will always remember Rick as a man of principal who was dedicated to his work with the union. He is in a far better place but left us much to soon.

  4. I met Rick at the Merrifield Post Office and got to know him more closely through our mutual friend, John Langford. Even after he retired, we would see him on his way to the APWU office, and continued exchanging emails up to last week. Rick, John and I also got together a few times to celebrate birthdays and go to military/gun shows. Rick always met you with a smile and a laugh, and was ready to offer help or advice if you needed it. He was proud of his service in the USMC,and of his fellow heroes who served with him in Vietnam. We will miss him. God bless his family and comfort them during this time of grief. I hope they can find peace in knowing he is where there is no suffering or tears, for he is with our Lord.

  5. Connie, our sincere sympathy to you and your family. John and I are sorry we could not come today. You are in our prayers. If there is anything we can do, pleaase let us know.

  6. I met Rick at the Northern Virginia APWU. He was extremely helpful. I am so very sorry for your loss. He was a good person, loved his family and loved the USMC.

  7. I met Rick at Merrifield in 1990. If you were blessed with the chance to meet him you loved him. There will never be another like him. I will miss him very much.

  8. When we met Rick for the first time, it was like we had known each other for years. He was always in a great spirit and helpful. He was and will remain our best friend. We will miss him so dearly. Connie, although there is little we can say at this time of sorrow, but we want you to know if there is anything that we can do to help, please call on us.

  9. I met Rick when I was in Virginia visiting a friend about 12 years ago at the Local APWU offices. He was very kind and very friendly to me and I felt like we were old friends even though we had just met. He was a good person and I will miss him. My sincere sympathies to his family and wife.
