Richie was a great leader and a founding player on the early Joe Theismann Softball teams.
He kept his friends close and was admired by those who witnessed his devotion to being a good team mate and a good friend.
God Bless—
John Horshok—
and all members of that special Joe Theismann’s network that used sports to make lifelong friends….

I knew Richie for over 50 years and he was bigger than life itself! Richie’s best came from layers that many people never saw … where he helped people during their times of need. Calling him a legend doesn’t do him justice! If a book was written it would have 100 chapters, each different; funny; competitive (to say the least); athlete; player; coach; the teacher; card player; golfer (that is being kind); mentor, and all of his friends could add page after page to that best seller! We will miss tremendously, him but his memories will makes us laugh forever! So long Richie, thanks for being a part of my life!
A FEW OF MANY MEMORIES TO SHARE:
For 39 years Ritchie was my brother-in-law. For nearly 20 of those years my sister, Daren and Dawn, along with our Momma, created fabric, wood and floral crafts and participate in several juried craft festivals. Though Ritchie could be a man of few words, he always showed up chipper with his impish smile ready to help us. He hauled our crafts on site, brought us lunch and helped us breakdown at the end of the day.
Ritchie loved to entertain with his light hearted funny card tricks. His nearly photographic memory also made him a competitive money-winning serious card player! Ritchie was also a creature of habit and didn’t like his environment at home to be altered too much. Many years, when he was away on his yearly golf trip, Dawnie would have all of her siblings come to the house to make changes like interior painting or putt tingup crown moulding or new window treatments. He learned that when he returned from golfing something would be NEW. He was always good natured about it especially when all was put back together before his return.
In the final years of Ritchies life , he shed his macho presence and his gentler side emerged. I will always love and remember the unwavering way he honored cared for my sister. Their connection and commitment to one another was ever present throughout their 38 years together. And, now, they will be together again everlasting.
