Col. Richard Barry Gadd of Vienna, VA passed away Friday, April 19, 2013 after a brief illness. He was 74. Dick was born and raised in Connecticut and graduated from Trinity College in Hartford in 1961. He also received masters degrees from Troy University. He entered Air Force pilot training after Trinity and served in Vietnam. He had a distinguished Air Force career and supported numerous charities including the Society of the Irish Brigade and the Hibernian Society. And, as a proud descendant of the Father of the American Navy, Commodore John Barry, Dick also supported the United States Navy Memorial. He is survived by his brother and sister, daughter and two sons, five grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Robert F. Gadd, Jr. and Barry I. Gadd. His family and many friends will dearly miss Dick's intelligence, generosity, intrepid spirit and great sense of humor.

  2. Dickie, I’ll forever remember our day trips to Middleburg for lunch especially one trip where,on the drive back, I covered one eye in order not to see double and you cautioned me that it was a dead giveaway to cops. Oh well!
