Richard S. McDaniel, 1st Sgt. USMC (Ret). Formerly of Vienna, Virginia. Died on Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at Potomac Hospital. Beloved husband of Dorothy McDaniel. Devoted father of Steve McDaniel, Mary Lewis and Timothy McDaniel. Grandfather of Michelle McDaniel. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy and Family, Jennifer and I are very saddened to hear of your loss. Dick was a wonderful man with a great sense of family. The two of you never failed to remember Jennifer when she graduated and was married. Being divorced from Mark for over 20 years I was never made to feel I wasn’t part of the McDaniel/Ditto families that meant alot to me. My prayers and love are with you! Joni Ditto

Dorothy, I don’t know if you remember me and Flavia. I was on the Board of Directors at Comstar Credit Union when Dick was a board member. I know we met. After Dick left the board. I inquired about Dick through Sam Wagner wondering what became of him after leaving on a couple of occasions. Sam called me to inform me of Dick’s passing. I want to express our sympathy and extend our prayers for you and the family.
