Rita Patterson of Vienna, VA, died on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at her home. She is the loving mother of Eric (Catherine) Patterson, Heidi (Dhiren) Patterson-Odedra and the late Joseph Patterson; sister of Bernd (Ana) Wiesenthal, Annerose Weilandt; cherished grandmother of Ashley, Erin, Robert and Maya, great-grandmother of Kishon, Darius and Derek. Relatives and friends are invited to Rita's Life Celebration at Money and King Funeral Home, 171 W. Maple Ave., Vienna, VA on Tuesday, June 17 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 8601 Wolftrap Road, Vienna, VA on Wednesday, June 18 at 1:00 PM. Interment will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery. Donations may be made to Doctor's without Borders.

Erick and Family–I send my deep sincere condolences on the passing of your MOM. Many things in life can be replaced, but nothing ever takes the place of MOM. We were very sorry to learn of Rita’s untimely passing. Although we had not met her, Rita lived within walking distance of our home. We did know her wonderful daughter Heidi, however, and Heidi’s husband Dhiren. Our condolences go to them and to the rest of Rita’s family. You are in our prayers. Don and Betsy Libretta

I give my sincere condolences to the families and friends. Rita was greatly loved and will be missed. The best description of Jehovah God is that he is love. It talks of this at 2 Corinthians 13:11 where it says, “Finally, brothers, continue to rejoice, to be readjusted, to be comforted, to think in agreement, to live peaceably, and the God of love and of peace will be with you.” This love is the reason why we can be confident that Jehovah will remember those in the memorial tombs in the near future and we will be reunited with our loved ones. Please take comfort in that knowledge.
