Robert A. Kennedy of Oakton, VA, died on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Gainesville Health and Rehabilitation Center. Loving husband of the late Julia Grace Kennedy; devoted father of Ronald (Lynn) Kennedy, Michael (Cheri) Kennedy and Kathleen (James) Singleton; brother of Irma (Edward) Herzog and cherished grandfather of Dylan, Bryden, Emma, Julie and Amanda. Robert enjoyed painting, fishing, sailing, gardening and woodworking. He retired from NASA and was a part of the first NASA mission to Mars he also was in charge of payload operations in the space lab. A graveside service will be held at Fairfax Memorial Park, 9900 Braddock Rd., Fairfax, VA on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. Please meet at the Administration Building by 12:50 PM. The family requests donations be made to your local Humane Society in Robert's memory

I am so sorry to learn of Bob’s death from the Washington Post. My darling Bob died this past August. We had tried to get in touch with your Bob for several years but no luck. We were good friends with Bob & Julia back in NASA days & Bob went sailing with my Bob on the Chesapeake. I hope they are having a reunion in heaven with God.
