Rodney David Ellis

Rodney David Ellis, of Manassas, Virginia, just 47 years old, passed away on October 29, 2021, at Virginia Hospital Center with loving family by his side.
Rod was born on June 5, 1974, in Atlanta, Georgia to John Wesley Ellis, Jr. and Helen English Ellis. After Rod graduated from Oakton High School in 1992, he went on to study Music Performance at Shenandoah University, where he was a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
Rod always had a passion for music. He started playing the piano at just three years old at The Georgia Academy of Music. In fourth grade, Rod started playing the tuba and it quickly became a passion of his. He was a member of the Piedmont Symphony Orchestra for nine years and a member of many local bands throughout the years. He loved animals, ghost hunting, bigfoot chasing, and spending time with his family and friends. He was known for his kind and compassionate spirit.
Rod is survived by his wife, Jenifer Kane Ellis; his mother, Helen; his sister, Ruth Marie Ellis; his brothers, John Wesley Ellis, III; Morgan Tod Ellis, James Harvey Ellis, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, John, and his brother, Joseph Darcy Ellis.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Money & King Funeral Home, 171 Maple Avenue, West, Vienna, Virginia 22180. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), an organization Rod felt strongly about.
