Ronald William Pfeifle, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the Gulfport Rehabilitation Center in So. Pasadena, FL. Son of Harold and Beatrice Pfeifle, he was born and raised in Grosse Pointe, MI and attended Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. He began his career in the infant field of computing in 1951 with the Detroit Tank Arsenal, then moved on to the Defense Supply Agency. After moving to Washington, DC, he was Director with Internal Revenue Service and helped establish the IRS Data Center centralizing data processing functions from Ogden, UT and Lawrence, MA. Following this, he accepted a position as Director of Customs Law Enforcement in San Diego, CA. Later, he was appointed Director of the ADP Division at Customs Headquarters in Washington, DC. In 1983, he took early retirement from the government and accepted a position in private industry at Compex in Springfield, VA, later moving on to Cisco Systems. He retired in 1992 to St. Petersburg, FL
He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Panorelli) Pfeifle, and six children, Larry (Chere) Pfeifle, Tim (Carol) Pfeifle, Sharon (Cortney) Taylor, Frank (Lena) Calobrisi, David (Charlotte) Calobrisi, Paul Calobrisi, and eight grandchildren, Megan, Amanda, Alex, Ryan, Nick, Marissa, Kevin, and Sydney. He was preceded in death by son, Michael Pfeifle, and daughter, Julianne Pfeifle.
Relatives and friends are invited to Ronald's Life Celebration at Money & King Funeral Home, 171 W. Maple Ave., Vienna, VA on Thursday, April 27 from 5-7 PM and where a Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 28th at 12:30 PM. Interment will follow at Fairfax Memorial Park.
