Roy Kenneth Gjormand
April 5, 1943 ~ July 5, 2022
Roy Kenneth Gjormand, 79, passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones on July 5, 2022. He was born April 5, 1943 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of Conrad and Randi. He is remembered as the loving husband of 48 years to Diana; father of Robert, Susan Unheim, and Lisa Miller; grandfather of five and great-grandfather of eight. Roy is predeceased by his parents, sister and brother.
Roy was the Engineering and HVAC Supervisor for the State of Virginia. He was a member of Sons of Norway, and enjoyed collecting coins, shopping, and cooking Norwegian dishes. Roy was known as a “putzer” to the family because he was always tinkering around with something. He was a “Jack of all trades” and could fix just about anything.
Roy was loving, kind, very creative, and had a great sense of humor. He was loved dearly by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of Roy's Life will be held at the home of Olaf and Eileen Gjormand, 500 Nutley St., SW, Vienna, VA 22180, on Saturday, September 3, 2022 from 2 to 4 p.m.
