Roy Lee Hamilton
October 16, 1941 ~ July 4, 2012
Roy Hamilton (Big Boy), age 70, of Clifton, Va., died on July 4, 2012. He was born in Leesburg, Va to the Late Charles and Lillian Hamilton. He is survived by his loving wife Barbara, their six children, ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Roy was one of ten children, survived by his sister, Shirley Duley and his brother, Eddie Hamilton. He was employed for the past 35 years at JK Auto Parts in Baileys Crossroads, Va. Roy's passion for golf began at the early age of 12 caddying at Goose Creek Country Club. Years later, Roy joined a group at Goose Creek Country Club, moving then to Evergreen Country Club which consisted of the guys he had earlier caddied for known as the "Slicks". Roy continued to enjoy and play golf for years, entering tournaments and winning many prestigious awards for charity. Roy enjoyed his muscle cars. One of his most recent passions was taking his 1973 Candy Apple Red Camaro to car shows where he won many trophies. He shared these experiences with his wife and grandchildren. Roy enjoyed sports and was a lover of baseball and football. He was a huge fan of the Washington Redskins where he established life long relationships with several team members. Roy loved his wife of 25 years. They would have celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary on July 12th. They shared an interesting story, meeting and dating, then parting for 23 years, reconnecting and finally marrying and sharing their lives together. Roy enjoyed his later years the most by spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He will be truly missed by everyone whose life he touched. I met Roy (and Barbara) when my daughter Denise began dating their son John in 2001 and later married in 2002. Roy loved everyone it seemed whether they were family or not. He was extremely proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchild and doted on them all. He will be missed by everyone he came into contact with. Always one to help in any situation whether it be financially, emotionally or physically. His passing has left a huge void on this earth. RIP Roy.

My Dad (Eddie) and Uncle Roy finally made amends and became brothers again and that is all that dad talked about was his brother and how much he meant to him. I am so thankful that Uncle Roy and Aunt Barbara spent time with Dad. Dad will never forget the drag strip and the red car or as Dad calls it The Beautiful Car. Thank you for coming back in Dad life again. Dad and I love the both of you! I know Dad will surely miss you Uncle Roy! RIP Uncle Roy!

We were very sorry to hear about Roy. We were friends years ago and lost touch thru the years. Our son got interested in golf in 1975(at 13) and Roy sold him his first clubs, which he still has. We all have fond memories of him and wish we had kept in touch. We always put things off until it is to late. Our condolences to the family.
I’m so sorry to hear of your loss. My prayers and thoughts are with you. God Bless all the family Love Joan
