Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 28 at 1 p.m. at the Catholic Campus Ministry of GMU, St. Robert Bellarmine Chapel, 4515 Roberts Rd., Fairfax, VA. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kosciuszko Foundation, 15 E. 65th St., New York, NY 10021-6501 in his name, www.kosciuszkofoundation.org.

Truly a privilege to know Ryszard, both as his student, and long term friend. To work with him was a revitalizing experience, and a reminder of how fortunate we are to learn, to grow, to change, in a society like ours.
I had known Ryszard in the hospital. Short encounter but left a great impact in my life as his friend, sister and chaplain. He is so soft spoken, sincere in his sharing about his life, kind, very open and trusting and a man of prayer, a man who is deeply in love with the God he believed, always looking forward to receive Jesus through communion and a man with deep faith. I thank God for allowing me to know him and be able to walk with him in his last few days of his journey here on earth. He will always be an inspiration to all of us who had known him. Rzsard, may you walk humbly with the Lord whom you loved so dearly.
It was a privilege to know Dr. Michalski, during his years as a Navy-sponsored researcher and after. I was sad to hear of his passing.
