Sdenka Iberia Rico
May 24, 1972 ~ July 19, 2022
My family’s heart is broken as we all mourn the loss of my dear sister, Sdenka Rico, who passed away on July 19, 2022, at Fairfax Hospital. Her bright light and big heart left us too soon, but we will remember her warmth, love, and generosity. Her sudden loss is heart wrenching for her loving parents Alicia and Cesar, and brother Omar.
We will dearly miss my sister, as will those she impacted throughout her life. Sdenka's passions involved caring for children and dogs, especially Bella and Ellie who were truly blessed to have an auntie as special as she was. She had a flair for baking, photography, and created stunning flower arrangements. She also dedicated a tremendous amount of her life to taking special care of her parents as they suffered with illness.
Sdenka showed us how strong she was as she made her short journey through life. Through tremendous personal adversity she persevered to become a devoted daughter, sister, and friend. She would always put others needs above hers even till the end as she fought her insidious disease and withstood tremendous pain to continue to be with us.
Our family will be holding a private ceremony at Money & King Funeral Home in Vienna on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at 10:00 am. If you would like to bring flowers, Sdenka’s favorites were “Stargazer Lily”, “White Lily”, “Peonies”, “Blue Hydrangeas”. Or you can also donate to the Inova Schar Cancer Institute.
