Shari Fronzaglia

shari fronzaglia
Shari Ann Fronzaglia passed away on June 23, 2021, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Emporia, Kansas July 14, 1959, and was the eldest daughter of Sharon and Robert Seider. In 1963 she moved to Okinawa where her father was a teacher in the Department of Defense Dependent Schools. In 1974 her family moved to Giessen, Germany where she graduated from Frankfurt American High School. At a young age, she developed a love for ballet, the arts, and reading. Shari’s dance and acting talent was enjoyed in her performances in “Godspell”, “Guys and Dolls”, and “Twelfth Night” in the local military theater. It was through this theater that she met her future husband, Army Lieutenant Robert “Bob” Fronzaglia. Notably, before leaving for higher education at Emporia State University, Shari won “Who’s Who in American High Schools Overseas” and took a gap year working in Human Resources at the Giessen Army Base.

As a freshman at Emporia State, Shari won “First Runner up for Miss Emporia State” and “Best Talent” for her ballet routine. On July 12, 1980, Shari married Bob and then spent the next 16 years partnering with her husband on his Field Artillery career. During this time she earned a BS degree in Sociology from the University of Colorado. Her Army adventures took her to Ft Carson, CO; Syracuse, NY; Heidelburg, Germany; Ft Leavenworth, KS; Ft Sill, OK; Ft Stewart, GA; and finally Oakton, VA where they spent an additional 26 years building a strong home and community. Shari and Bob raised five wonderful children -- her “greatest treasures.”

Once settled in Oakton, Shari’s home-making skills and community outreach locked in. She was known for her eye for beautiful décor, phenomenal culinary skills, and voracious reading of all genres of literature especially history and theology. Shari was especially known for her love of people, her Catholic faith, and her dedication to defending life. Her soft spot was for young children in whom she was thrilled teaching Catholic catechism and substitute teaching. Shari was an ardent prayer warrior and defender of life. She brought love to all who knew her and influenced many for Jesus Christ through her loving, gentle, and kind example of daily living. The legacy Shari leaves behind is a deep faith and a love for God, family, friends, and country.

Shari is survived by her husband LTC (Ret) Robert Fronzaglia (Oakton, VA), her five children, and son-in-law: Michelle (Fronzaglia) and Christopher Amateis (Salt Lake City, UT) John, Anna, Michael, and David Fronzaglia (Oakton, VA), and her three beloved grandchildren Damian, Josephine, and baby number three due in September 2021. Shari is also survived by her loving parents Sharon and Robert Seider (St Augustine, FL), Shelley and Mark Hering (Norfolk, VA); Robert John Seider the III (Jacksonville, FL) and Shannon Seider-Roqhuett (St Augustine, FL) as well as 12 wonderful nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Friday, July 9 from 5 - 8 p.m. and a funeral mass on Saturday, July 10, at 11 a.m. at St. Mark Catholic Church, 9970 Vale Road Vienna, VA. 22181; a reception will be held at St Mark following the mass.
