Stephen Adrian Myers

Stephen Adrian Myers, 66 years old, of Oakton, Virginia, passed away peacefully on December 29th after losing his battle with cancer. Steve was a proud father and a good friend who kept lifelong friendships. He was a successful businessman, and lover of so much in his life.

Steve had an admirable 30+ year career in the mortgage business founding his own company, Metfund Mortgage, and the Mortgage Gardening Method. He eventually transitioned to become Branch Manager/Senior Loan Officer for Alcova Mortgage. Steve could spend hours outdoors where he enjoyed gardening and riding his bike. He loved listening to music and played guitar at the St. Mark’s folk mass for 20 years.

Above all Steve loved being with his children, family, and friends. He was a proud University of Florida Gator alum where he studied Zoology and Environmental Sciences. He particularly enjoyed coaching with Vienna Youth Lacrosse and St. Marks CYO basketball. Steve embraced life and brought that outlook and resilience to many of his life’s challenges, particularly his fight with cancer.

Steve is predeceased by his Father, Adrian T. Myers and Mother, Joan C. Myers, and is survived by his children Andrew Stephen Myers, of Oakton, VA and Susan Olivia Myers of Reston, VA, and his two brothers, Michael K. Myers, of Alexandria, VA, and Gregory B. Myers, of Bethesda, MD. Services will be held at St. Marks Catholic Church, Friday, January 20th at 11am. St Marks Catholic Church is located at 9970 Vale Road, Oakton, VA.

  2. We write to express our sadness and heartfelt condolences. Steve was my neighbor and joined me on the Courthouse Station Homeowners Association as our President which he turned over to when he stepped down. He was a good friend and was always a caring person, bright, cheerful, and a down to earth class act.

  3. What started as a business relationship became a strong friendship. Steve wrote our original rental agreement at Courthouse Station and then became our neighbor. Working on a dozen or so mortgages and refinancings over the years, we got close to Steve, finding that we had many shared interests, not least in good ol’ Rock ‘N Roll. We miss you, buddy.

    Jim Mattix and Jill Johnson

  4. My first and last love. I miss you every day. Thank you for being in my life however short our time together was ; it was beautiful.
