Sylvia Mae Hall

Sylvia Mae Hall, Beloved by those who knew her, died peacefully in Fairfax Virginia on April 18, 2020 at the age of 80.
Sylvia is survived by her three children, Michael Woerner (Elizabeth), Cynthia Gray (Douglas), and Brett Woerner (Carolyn); her six grandchildren, Brian Woerner (Wendy), Darrin Gray (Alexis), Katherine Gray (Cullen), Eric King (Martha), Alex Woerner, and Juliette Woerner; her six great grandchildren, Lucas and Alana Woerner, Liam, Kaylie, and Arleigh Gray, and Colter Maher; and her sister, Virginia Peters. Sylvia is preceded in death by her Late husband, David Hall; her Late first husband Jerry Woerner; her parents, Leland Miller and Charlotte Wyatt; her brother, Preston Miller; and her pets Ruffy, Sunshine, and Petey Kitty.
Sylvia was born on August 30, 1939 in McPherson Kansas. Sylvia’s family moved to Holton Kansas in 1950, where she graduated from Holton High School in 1957, Sylvia attended Emporia State Teachers College and later, Washburn University. Sylvia married Jerry Dean Woerner in 1959, with whom she had her three children. Sylvia divorced and later married David Harwood Hall in 1972. Sylvia and Dave moved to Fairfax Virginia in 1977, where she worked for The Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation, or Freddie Mac, as a Customer Integration Trainer. She retired from Freddie Mac in 2008.
Sylvia was a loving mother and dedicated career woman. She was passionate about listening to light jazz and new age music, beautifying her garden, spoiling her pets, and especially feeding the wild birds that visited her home all year. Sylvia volunteered for over a decade at the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts, in Vienna Virginia. She was an active and dedicated member of the Fairfax United Methodist Church for over 40 years.

She was the best sister I could have ever hoped for. Sylvia was beautiful, intelligent & a teacher to me. Sylvia taught me a lot about life. She was only a phone call away. I miss her so much. She left this world a better place. She loved the Lord & her family. Also, birds & flowers & animals, I will see you again 1 day my dear sister. I love you. Ginny.
