Ted C. Lane (90) of Palm City, Florida and originally of Chicago, Illinois died on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Sunrise of McLean, Virginia. A 2016 funeral ceremony is planned for Arlington National Ceremony. Born on November 25, 1924, Mr. Lane was a veteran of WWII serving with the U.S. Army Air Corps in the European-Theater where he earned three Bronze Battle Stars for action at Normandy, Northern France and Rhineland. One night a German V-1 Buzz Bomb hit near his barracks in Grez-Doiceau, Belgium. Fortunately, the bomb was filled with propaganda leaflets which had no affect on either his health or views. Ted graduated from Lake Forest College in 1948 and embarked on a successful 38-year career as a salesman for the Lehigh Portland Cement Company. He lived and worked in Illinois, Kansas, Florida and Pennsylvania. Playing off the company's slogan "Don't Forget Lehigh," Mr. Lane for years branded his own slogan "Don't Forget Ted Lane" on pencils and giveaway novelties. For all who knew him, Ted Lane was liked for his wit, loved for his commitment to family, admired for his good head of hair and true to his word ... he will not be forgotten.

Ted was the beloved husband of Marilyn G. Lane of 64 years; father of William C. Lane (Jan) and Wendy L. Ouimet (Larry); brother of Daniel Lane (Mary Ann); grandfather of David (Erin); Douglas (Jamie); Megan and Christopher; and great-grandfather of Ryan, Hailey, Parker and Mackenzie. He was preceded in death by his parents Tillie and Thaddeus Lewandowski of Chicago. Online condolences and fond memories of Mr. Lane may be offered to the family at www.moneyandking.com
