Thomas A. "Tom" Morrison

Thomas A. Morrison "Tom", of South Riding, Va passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 15, 2016. A loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend, he was loved by many. A graduate of Old Dominion University, Tom was born in Alexandria, Va., on march 23, 1968 to Hugh and Joanne Morrison. He was raised in Woodbridge, Va., surrounded by his 4 siblings, Julie, David, Robert and his twin sister Mary, as well as many, many people who became his lifelong friends.
In 1999, he married Karen Morrison (nee Brandenburg) and they settled in South Riding, Va. In 2003 they had a son, Ryan, and in 2006 added their daughter, Grace, to the family. Tom was a dedicated husband and father who took pride in and loved his family. His free time was spent coaching and playing with his children and dogs, Scout and then Maisy. He loved the beach and he and his family enjoyed spending time together in the Outer Banks in North Carolina.
An avid sports fan, he was loyal to all of the local professional teams as well as the University of Maryland basketball team. His #1 team was always the Washington Redskins-even through the low years.
Along with his wife, children, mother, and siblings, Tom is survived by brothers-in-law, Mark and Brent;sisters-in-law, Ryn, Lynda, Leslie (Tommy) and Sandy (Clark); his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Hazel and Harry, and many, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Anyone who met Tom, loved Tom. He will be VERY missed.
