On Friday, August 23, 2013 Walter E Jeffries, Jr., son of the late Julia and Walter E. Jeffries, Sr., passed away peacefully after a short illness. Mr. Jeffries worked as a fireman for the City of Alexandria for over ten years, retired after an on-the-job injury and became a school bus driver for the Alexandria Public Schools. He was a loyal Redskins fan, loved dogs, enjoyed hunting and was an avid fisherman. In 1966 he received the Trophy Fish Citation and Outstanding Angler award from the Virginia Commission of Game and Inland Fisheries. He became a member of the Downtown Baptist Church in Alexandria, VA and was baptized there on June 8, 1980. He is survived by his sister, Jean P. Richardson, his half-sister Kathy and half-brother David Jeffries, nephew Michael A. Richardson, Jr., niece Stacey L. Carter, grand-nephews Michael A. Richardson, III, and James D. Carter, Jr., and grand-nieces Sarah A. and Tracey L. Carter. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 30 at Money and King Funeral Home, 171 W. Maple Ave., Vienna, VA from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at National Memorial Gardens in Falls Church, VA, at 2:30 PM.

It is quiet unfortunate that no one bothered to mention in this obituary that this man has a daughter, a son-in-law, three granddaughters, and three great granddaughters.
