William (Bill) Clarence Cable, 100 years, of Vienna, Virginia, passed away on October 29, 2024. Born on July 13, 1924 in Chatham, Virginia, he was preceded in death by his parents, sister, and beloved wife Ruth Cable. He was a loving father to Carolyn Carter (Bill) and Barbara Dahlinger (Mark), devoted grandfather to Katie Balberchak (Daniel), Will Carter (Laura), Cristina Dahlinger, Courtney Dahlinger, and adoring great-grandfather to five. Family and friends will miss him dearly.
A World War II Veteran, Bill served in France shortly after D-Day. He was a hardworking and dedicated Federal Civil Servant for over 40 years. Despite his many responsibilities, he always made time for family and his church. Bill enjoyed vegetable gardening and was an avid fan of Washington baseball, the Senators and the Nationals.
A memorial service will be held on November 15 at 10:30 am at Lewinsville Presbyterian Church in McLean, VA. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations may be made to Lewinsville Presbyterian Church or the American Cancer Society.
