Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. May you find comfort in your many memories of Bill, in one another and among your family and friends. Words are inadequate… Pat, I am here for you and always will be.

  2. I am surprised and saddened to hear about Bills death. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Bradford family. God bless you all.

  3. I am so so sad to say goodbye to Bill Bradford. I knew him and worked with him for almost 20 years and watched him do amazing work in an inspiring way, with great skill and endless, compassionate, inventive falling-down-laughing humor. Arts At St.Ann’s, St.Ann’s Warehouse, the Prospect Park Bandshell, and tours to Poland and the Czech Republic with Mabou Mines. Dealing with mud, rain, power failures, lost luggage, and Lou Reed. Bill did beautiful work, one of the most intuitive live-music lighting designers I’ve ever seen – and he made me laugh and enjoy the things we as a crew created every single day. Thank you Bill. Peace to you and my sympathy to your family and loved ones.

  4. Our hearts go out to the Bradford family. Its so hard to let go of your own brother. He will be missed. Take comfort in knowing that hes now with Alice and Ed. Sending you all hugs, warm thoughts, and heartfelt prayers.

  5. I was so sad to hear of your passing. You were the glue that held the St. Ann Center “downstairs” crew together. You were an intricate member of the best of the best people, Administration, Production, Box Office, house staff, tech crew, sound engineer, electricians, stagehands, security and you my friend were a Broadway classed lighting designer, I just want you to know that!! My favorite times with you & the crew were after the show, the stage was striked and the “Church” was put back in order, we ate dinner & laughed & talked about how badass as a unit we all were! So many good memories. I love you my friend and will miss you dearly. My prayers go out to your family. RIP Bill Bradford. Evie.

  6. Thank you for all of the good memories. We spent many nights in tech., not only around NYC, but also through a long wet week in a circus tent in Poland making a chimp and rhino fly, while the local stage crew kept disappearing, while dealing with the power spike issues… You were patient, calm and made it work and we all pulled through. I recall we all had matching LOT Airline t-shirts as our luggage was lost for several days. Through it all, it was a great week and one to remember because of those who were there. You will be missed.

  8. Bill — You got me some of my first gigs in New York, at St. Ann’s and at the Prospect Park Bandshell, and I will always remember those days, and the long hours we worked together, with fondness and great respect, for your professionalism, creativity, passion and humanity. You were one of the most natural and intuitive lighting designers and technical directors I’d ever worked for, and a great guy, who could always make us laugh, no matter how late it got or how tired we might be. You will be dearly missed. You left us too soon.

  9. Dear Bill, What a wild ride we had for so many years at the Church – a special team at a special time in an amazing place. We found a voice, a style, a look, a sound together you, Janine, Val, Evie, Schnirbaby, Anne, Erich, Janet(2), Bill, Jerry, Larry, Zannah, AT, Jeff, Andy, Mike, Lisa, Lexi, Danny, Miranda, Peter, and loads of others who joined in to make St. Anns St. Anns. It wasnt always easy, but creatively, we soared for many years, and that is something to be proud of. Im very sad to know your last few years were so hard, and Id like to think your thoughts of the past brought some peace and relief. Light the way for the rest of us, Bill. Love, Susan

  10. Bill had the passion that made this life more interesting for everyone who knew him. I take comfort in all the wonderful memories and know that I am a better person for all that he shared with me. I will miss him and trust that he is at peace.

  11. I met Bill when I was 24 but he was my first boss who didn’t treat me like a kid. He was great leading the crew at St Ann’s and I will never forget the many nights we hung out feasting on Evie’s cooking or hanging out at Montero’s. He was brilliant at his job even making the church even more enchanting. So proud to have known Bill and so sad that he is gone. RIP.

  12. Hey, Bill. It seems like yesterday when we were hanging out at Auburn listening to Mr. Resistor at an outdoor party on a fine Saturday afternoon in 1988, talking about NYC… You had already moved there and were in town visiting, and I was about to move there the following year. Thanks for hiring me at St. Ann’s… you were a godsend for every young theater person graduating from the safe secure world of AU Theater into the wilds of NYC. You were a fun roommate, a great boss, and an all around great guy. I’ll never forget you, my friend. I’m finally reading that Heinlein book you were trying to get me to read years ago… Cheers, and see you on the other side one of these days. Jimmy Vines
