Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I remember David as a good friend and classmate at Athens High School when we were teenagers. I recall with great fondness an evening we spent together just prior to my entering the Navy and David off to GA Tech. We drove around the Athens/Gainesville, GA area for hours, both talking about the future and where we wanted to be. I had not seen David in many years but kept up with him through our mutual friend John and was both fascinated and proud of David’s accomplishments in life. Those of us from the 60’s will remember him well.

  2. Since both Mark and I were career naval officers, we knew Dave for many, many years. We shared several duty stations together spanning the globe(from Japan to Italy to Washington DC)and it was always enjoyable to be with both he and Deborah. Dave was one of those rare individuals who was extremely intelligent, well-read and cultured, yet very unassuming and humble. He had a way of bringing out the best in everyone and we feel privileged to have been his friends. Dave will be sorely missed, but will leave an indelible mark on those he loved and befriended.

  3. Dave and I were shipmates at NSGA Misawa Japan. Both of us were Director’s Fellows at the National Security Agency. Dave was an expert cryptologist with a distinguished career that culminated with creating and leading the Information Warfare Directorate at the National Security Agency.
